Perlis KPDN Detains Local Man, Seizes Subsidised Petrol Worth Over RM5,000

KANGAR, The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) detained a local man and seized 81 litres of subsidised petrol worth RM5,666.05 during an Ops Tiris 3.0 raid at a petrol station in Padang Besar on Friday (Sept 6).

Perlis KPDN director Hasbullah Abd Rashid, said the man in his 20s, was arrested while he was filling up his car at 9.27 pm.

‘An inspection found that the car was equipped with two modified extra tanks located in the back seat and the boot, suspected to contain petrol,’ he said in a statement today.

According to him, the Malaysian-registered vehicle was seized and the case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 (Act 122).
